Man Charged After Offering To Sell Undercover Detective 3 Handguns, Ammunition
Jack Koval Jr., 77, had a loaded handgun and $100,000 in his Bayonne home, authorities said.

A Hudson County man was charged after he offered to sell three handguns and ammunition to an undercover detective Saturday, Gurbir S. Grewal, Bergen County's acting prosecutor said in a news release.
An investigation by the Grewal's office, State Police, and Dumont and East Rutherford police departments revealed that Jack Koval Jr., 77, of Bayonne, was involved in the distribution of firearms, Grewal said.
On Saturday, Koval met with the detective and offered to sell him three handguns and ammunition; police found them, along with a loaded handgun and $100,000 at Koval's home, Grewal said.

Koval, a retired widower, was arrested in East Rutherford and charged with distribution of a firearm without being registered or licensed to do so, the prosecutor said. The investigation is continuing and additional charges may be considered by a Grand Jury.
Koval was released pending an Oct. 5 court appearance.
