Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Child Under 13 In Bergen County: Prosecutor

Prosecutors charged a Piermont, NY man with a sex crime against a child in Bergen County, they said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Piermont, NY man has been charged with sexually assaulting a child under 13 in Bergen County, prosecutors said Tuesday.

John Mark Dillon, 60, of Piermont, NY, was arrested in Orangeburg, N.Y. on Monday and charged with aggravated sexual assault, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.

Prosecutors said that on Monday, Feb. 26, the Northvale Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that had occurred in the past, prosecutors said.

An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Northvale Police Department determined that Dillon had sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13 in Northvale, proseutors said.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, detectives arrested Dillon and charged him with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault.

He's awaiting extradition to Bergen County, prosecutors said. They thanked the Northvale Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.
