Man Charged With Theft Of Landscaping Equipment In Franklin Lakes

The man was charged in connection with two incidents of theft, one on Tuesday, the other on July 31.

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — Police arrested a man Tuesday in connection of two instances of stolen landscaping equipment.

Kenneth Newton, 46, of Wayne was charged with two counts of theft, said Capt. John Bakelaar.

There was a reported theft of landscaping equipment Tuesday. Detective Jon Rynander followed up on the theft and arrested Newton later that day, Bakelaar said.

One count of theft was related to the Tuesday theft, the other to the theft of equipment on July 31 from a Superior Landscaping trailer, Bakelaar said. A backpack leaf blower and edger were taken in the latter incident.
