Man Drove Drunk Near Wyckoff School: Police

Evan W. Sheedy, 37, was charged with DWI within 1,000 feet of a school, police said.

WYCKOFF, NJ — Police charged a man with driving drunk near Coolidge Elementary School recently.

Officer Michael Teegan saw a vehicle stop in the middle of Deep Brook Road at about 10:15 p.m. Jan. 21, said Lt. Joseph Soto.

The driver got out and then vehicle started to roll away. The driver got back into the vehicle and stopped it, then he tried to leave, Soto said.

Teegan stopped the driver, Evan W. Sheedy, 37, of North Arlington, and investigated.

Sheedy was charged with DUI, DUI within 1,000 feet of a school and reckless driving. He was processed and released to the custody of a friend pending a court date, Soto said.
