Man Had 4+ Lbs. Of Raw Heroin In His Bergen Home: Prosecutor

Authorities found more than four pounds of raw heroin in a Bergen County man's apartment during a raid involving local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
Jhon Rodriguez-Acosta, 32, of Elizabeth was arrested Wednesday after authorities found more than four pounds of raw heroin, 30 bags of suspected heroin and fentanyl, and crack cocaine worth about $160,000, acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced Thursday.
The prosecutor's office received information in March that Rodriguez-Acosta was selling drugs throughout New Jersey, including Bergen County, Calo said.

During the investigation, he conspired to sell heroin to a Bergen County Prosecutor's Office detective and authorities raided his Orchard Street home as a result, Calo said.
Authorities seized the drugs, heroin packaging materials, $1,700, and various items used to cut the heroin at Rodriguez-Acosta's home, the prosecutor said.

Rodriguez-Acosta was charged with first-degree intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, namely heroin, first-degree maintaining a controlled dangerous substance production facility, second-degree conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, namely heroin, and fourth-degree possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending an appearance in county Central Judicial Processing Court, Calo said.
