John Emili, 24, was found guilty of vehicular homicide in April. A Teaneck woman was killed in the Garden State Parkway crash.

A man was sentenced to more than five years in state prison Friday for causing the death of the woman he was driving during a road rage incident on the Garden State Parkway nearly four years ago, The Record reported.

A jury found John Emili, 24, guilty in April of vehicular homicide for a road rage incident on the Garden State Parkway that caused Annetta “Rita” Billingy’s death. Emili was driving her from Teaneck home to the church her father is pastor of in Spring Valley, New York, the report said.

Emili crashed his car near exit 168 in Washington Township when Thomas Vanderweit brake-checked Emili, who was driving more than 100 mph; he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into guardrails before it overturned. Billingy, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, later died at a hospital after she was ejected from the vehicle.

Vanderweit was sentenced in December to six years in state prison, The Record reported.
