Man Sexually Assaulted Child In Wyckoff, Bergen County Prosecutor Says
A man was arrested on Saturday in connection with a sexual assault of a child under 13 in Wyckoff, Bergen County prosecutors said.
WYCKOFF, NJ — A man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly sexually assaulting a child under 13 in Wyckoff, Bergen County prosecutors said.
Donato Avolio, 35, formerly of Midland Park, was arrested Saturday on one charge of second-degree sexual assault, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office late Wednesday.
Prosecutors say that Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the Wyckoff Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile that had occurred in the past.

An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office determined that Avolio sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13 in Wyckoff, they said.
As a result of the investigation, on March 28, 2024, Avolio was charged with the assault, but he was not located that day.

He was "located and arrested on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, with the assistance of the Clifton Police Department," prosecutors say.
He was taken to the Bergen County Jail for a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
Prosecutor Mark Musella thanked the Wyckoff and Clifton police departments for their help.
