Man Threatened To Kill Wyckoff Cops: Prosecutor

Angel Sariol, 45, of Hackensack was arrested Thursday and charged with making terroristic threats.

WYCKOFF, NJ — A man who allegedly called several local police departments this week and threatened to murder police officers was arrested Thursday.

Angel Sariol, 45, of Hackensack was charged with creating a false public alarm and two counts of making terroristic threats, acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced. Friday.

Sariol, a janitor, made the calls from Monday through Wednesday, Calo said.

At least 19 municipal police departments, including Wyckoff, received anonymous phone calls over the three-day period, Calo said.

The caller stated that police officers from these towns would be murdered, he said. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Cyber Crimes Unit was notified and investigated.

The investigation revealed that Sariol used technology to disguise the phone line he was calling from, Calo said.

Sariol was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a hearing in Central Judicial Processing Court Friday morning.
