Mayor's Daughter Engaged In Sexual Contact With Kid: Prosecutor

The daughter of a Bergen County mayor who teaches in a middle school was arrested after she had sexual contact with a student who was younger than 16, acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced.
Stephanie A. Carafa, 32, of Lodi was arrested after an investigation by the Lodi Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, Calo said. Carafa's father, Emil Carafa Jr. is the mayor of Lodi, NorthJersey.com reported.
The Lodi Police Department received information Friday that Carafa exchanged "explicit photographs and videos" with the juvenile, Calo said.

Police and the prosecutor's office Special Victims Unit investigated and learned that Carafa also engaged in "inappropriate sexual conduct" with a student, Calo said.
Carafa was arrested Saturday. She was charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child. She is scheduled for a detention hearing in Hackensack Friday morning, Calo said.
