Newark Man Charged With Franklin Lakes Burglary

Yorghi Turkmany, 30, was charged with burglarizing the Lukoil gas station on Franklin Avenue in July.

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — A Newark man was charged Wednesday with burglarizing the Lukoil gas station on Franklin Avenue last month after an investigation by authorities.

Yorghi Turkmany, 30, was charged with burglary and theft, after a five-week investigation after the gas station was burglarized July 21, said Capt. John Bakelaar.

Lukoil employees reported the burglary when they arrived that morning to oepn the gas station, Bakelaar said. Entry was gained through a window and about $540 in cash was stolen from a cash register that was forced open, he said.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and other local police departments assisted Franklin Lakes Police with the investigation.
