Parade Will Honor Franklin Lakes Gold Medal-Winner Jack Wallace
Wallace helped the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team win a gold medal at the Paralympic Winter Games Saturday.

FRANKLIN LAKES, NJ — Gold medal-winner Jack Wallace will be honored at a special parade Tuesday.
Wallace, a borough native, helped the U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team win a third consecutive gold medal at the Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea Saturday. Team USA defeated Team Canada 2-1 in overtime.
The parade will start at 6 p.m. at the corner of Old Mill Road and Franklin Avenue. It will proceed up Franklin Avenue, turn right onto Pulis Avenue, and then turn right onto DeKorte Drive, culminating with a ceremony in front of Borough Hall.

“Jack is a true American success story and a great kid,” said Mayor Frank Bivona. “Jack and his family are residents who epitomize the family values of our town.”
Wallace, 19, is a forward on the team. He lost his right leg in a boating accident in July 2008. An avid hockey player, Wallace recovered and started playing Para ice hockey in 2009. He joined a local team and then earned a spot on the Men's National Paralympic Team in 2017.

Wallace could not immediately be reached for comment.
