Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Weekend Wyckoff Crash: Prosecutor

After a car swerved off the road to avoid a wreck, a woman was struck by the vehicle, but is now in stable condition, authorities say.

WYCKOFF, NJ — A woman is in stable condition after she was struck by a car that jumped a curb in Wyckoff over the weekend.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's office announced that a 50-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car Saturday when the driver attempted to turn from Newtown Road onto Wyckoff Avenue and lost control of his vehicle in an effort to avoid striking another car.

After jumping the curb, the vehicle struck the pedestrian, who was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center where she is in stable condition.

The driver, a juvenile, cooperated with police and was issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and failure to stop at a stop sign, according to the Prosectuor's office.

An investigation led by the Prosecutor's office and Wyckoff Police is underway.
