Police In Bergen County Towns Increase Patrols After Strikes On Iran

"Officers are increasing their presence around religious locations," said Bergen County towns.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — After the United States and Israel launched military strikes against Iran this weekend, police departments across North Jersey said they were protecting religious locations and other spots from retaliation.

In an offensive labeled “Operation Epic Fury" by the Pentagon, the strikes targeted cities including Tehran, killing both civilians and U.S. military members. Reports said at least 200 people were killed and 700 were injured. In a video, the president said the strikes were meant to "defend the American people by eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime.”

The Wyckoff Police Department posted a similar message to other local law enforcement agencies.
