Police Nab 14-Year-Old Bergen Liquor Store Burglars
Police found the 2 boys hiding along the bank of the Passaic River early Thursday morning.
Police took two teenage liquor store burglars into custody Thursday night after finding them hiding along the bank of the Passaic River.
The Garfield Police Department received a report at 4:42 a.m. of two men entering the front window of the River Drive Bar & Liquors. Police investigated and determined that the individuals stole money and alcohol from the store, said Capt. Darren Sucorowski.
Local police and Bergen County Sheriff's officers set up a perimeter. At 4:51 a.m., Garfield Police officers found two 14-year-old boys from Passaic hiding along the bank of the Passaic River, Sucorowski said.

The boys were taken into custody and transported to the Garfield Police Department. They were charged with delinquency for the burglary and thefts, the captain said.
The boys were released to their guardians pending appearances in Bergen County Family Court.
