UPDATE: Bergen Husband Charged With Wife's Murder: Prosecutor
Eric Pleger was charged after his wife's body was found in a North Arlington apartment Friday, the prosecutor said.
A North Arlington man was charged with murder following the discovery of his wife’s body in the couple’s apartment Friday, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.
The body of Luisa Pleger, 47, was found in the Riverview Gardens apartment complex Friday afternoon by the North Arlington Police Department after a “concerned party” contacted authorities to check on her welfare, Grewal said.
Pleger’s husband, Eric Pleger, 45, was charged following an investigation by the prosecutor’s office Major Crimes Unit and the North Arlington Police Department.

Pleger was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
Superior Court Judge Susan J. Steele set Eric Pleger’s bail at $2 million with no 10 percent option. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail, authorities said.

The Bergen County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy on Pleger’s body to determine the cause of death.
The prosecutor’s office posted that it was investigating a homicide at the apartment complex shortly after 4 p.m. Friday.
