Ramapo Indian Hills Superintendent To Host Virtual Reopening Q&A

Hybrid learning is still the plan, but Interim Superintendent Bruce Watson said it "may be prudent to explore necessary changes."

OAKLAND, NJ — A Zoom Q&A with Ramapo Indian Hills School District Interim Superintendent Bruce Watson is scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m., the district announced.

After hold a Q&A with staff last week, and receiving parent emails regarding the "Return to Learning" plan (R2L), Watson thought it would be a good idea to offer the same for them.

In a letter to RIH families, Watson said he still believes the R2L plan meets the Department of Education and guidelines issued by Gov. Phil Murphy, "recent events suggest that it may be prudent to explore necessary changes to achieve the goal of offering safe, high-quality, in-person instruction and a lower-risk environment."

Though the district seems open to exploring changes if necessary, the goal remains the same.

"The goal since before June has been, and remains, to open our schools and have students and staff return safely for on-site instruction this school year," wrote Watson.
