Ramapo Takes Second in Big North Cheer Competition

Ramapo High School Varsity Cheer Team placed second in the Big North Competitive Cheer Competition at Paramus Catholic Friday night.

On Friday evening, more than 30 high school competitive cheer teams met at Paramus Catholic to compete in seven divisions representing the Big North conference. The Ramapo High School Varsity team competed in the Freedom division and took second place, trailing behind Hackensack High School. Other teams in their division included Indian Hills, who placed third; Northern Highlands; Paramus and Ridgewood.

The Ramapo team will continue their season through March 19th when they travel to Orlando, Florida for the AmeriCheer International Championship competition. To raise funds for this event, the Ramapo team is hosting the second annual Have a Heart Cheer Competition at Ramapo High School on Saturday, February 11th where they will host nearly 40 teams from the tri-state area.
