Rapper Bizzy Banks Arrested After Bergen County Raid: Police

A rap artist is being held in the Bergen County Jail on drug, money laundering, and weapons charges after a raid on his Hackensack home.

HACKENSACK, NJ — A 23-year-old rap artist is being held in the Bergen County Jail on drug, money laundering, and weapons charges, Hackensack police said.

Bizzy Banks, born Majesty Blessed Moses, was arrested Friday during a SWAT raid on his Hackensack home. Police said in a news release that detectives had a warrant to search his apartment and vehicle stemming from a fraud investigation.

Officers found a gun with hollow-point bullets, $2,750 in cash, and more than two pounds of marijuana in Banks' home.

Banks faces seven charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon, money laundering, and distribution/possession/possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia.

Banks was born in Brooklyn. The New York City Police Department and Bergen County Regional SWAT Team helped with the investigation.
