Rapper Fivio Foreign Charged With Assault After Edgewater Arrest
The rising Brooklyn rapper is being held in Bergen County Jail without bond as of Tuesday afternoon, Bergen County Jail inmate records show.

HACKENSACK, NJ — The Brooklyn rapper Fivio Foreign was arrested Saturday on assault charges, according to Bergen County Jail inmate records.
Born Maxie Ryles III, the rapper is charged with simple assault and knowingly causing bodily injury after an incident in Edgewater, and is currently being held in Bergen County Jail without bond as of Tuesday, records show.
The Edgewater Police Department did not immediately respond for a request to comment.

Ryles, 30, has been on the rise since the summer of 2019 after his song "Big Drip" came to be a defining record of the emerging Brooklyn drill scene, which includes the late Pop Smoke.
His first official project, "800 BC", was released earlier this year, and Ryles was selected as a 2020 XXL Freshman and appeared on the cover of the magazine's September issue, a still-important signifier of status within the genre.
