Real Housewife to Compete in Mrs. N.J. Pageant

Kim Granatell to represent the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation.

Radar Online is reporting that Kim Granatell, Franklin Lakes resident and television star on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” has gone from being a judge of the 2011 Mrs. New Jersey Pageant to being a contestant.

This year’s pageant will take place on May 21 at 7 p.m. at the Pollak Theater e pageant The 2011 Pageant will be held May 21, 2011 at 7:00 pm on the campus of Monmouth University.

“Kim is thrilled to be part of the contest and is now working on her walk and scouting out the local tanning salons and she will be representing the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation to help New Jersey kids with cancer,” said Tom Murro, a friend of Granatell’s, emailed informing the Franklin Lakes Patch.

Murro also confirmed he has been added as the event’s master of ceremonies. 

Murro explained originally both he and Granatell were set to be judges but “were unknowingly photographed with some of the contestants last Friday [April 1] at a New Jersey Fashion Week event.”

“Apparently this is a no-no, someone at the party must have cried foul and as a result the pageant director sent me an email yesterday asking us to step down as judges,” said Murro. “I immediately informed Kim of this, and soon after the Pageant director offered her a spot as a contestant, Kim accepted.”
