Second Annual Ukranian Independence Day Celebration Planned In Bergen County
The ceremony will include performances and recognition of those involved in relief efforts. Meanwhile, Russia's deadly invasion continues.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco and the Board of County Commissioners are inviting the public to a flag raising ceremony in honor of Ukrainian Independence Day on Thursday, Aug. 24 at 12:30 p.m.
The ceremony will recognize those who have been instrumental in organizing recent local relief efforts for Ukraine and will also feature traditional cultural performances.
The event will take place at the Bergen County Administration Building Piazza, One Bergen County Plaza, Hackensack.

Participants will include Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, Representatives from the Bergen County Board of County Commissioners, Representatives of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, and Representative from the Ukrainian Consulate of New York.
Meanwhile, the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues, with a 3-week-old baby and her 12-year-old brother among those recently killed in Russian attacks.
