Sex Ed Teacher Who Had Sex With Student Has License Revoked
Donald DeWitt pleaded guilty to having sex with a Bergen County Academies student and was sentenced to four years in prison.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A state education board revoked the teaching certificate of a former Bergen County Academies teacher who admitted last year to having sex with a student.
Donald DeWitt, of Warwick, New York, was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to endangering the welfare of a child. He was also sentenced to parole supervision for life.
DeWitt was charged after the student's sister discovered sexually explicit emails between DeWitt and the victim and told her mother, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said last year after DeWitt was charged. The then 16-year-old victim’s mother notified local police, who notified the prosecutor’s office, authorities said.
