ShopRite Can Be Built In Wyckoff

Superior Court judge dismisses final appeals filed against application.

A Bergen County Superior Court judge has ruled in favor of a ShopRite being built in Wyckoff.

Judge William Meehan dismissed the final three counts of Stop & Shop’s most recent legal appeal against the application, globest.com reported.

Shop & Shop initially appealed the county Planning Board’s approval of the application to the Board of Chosen Freeholders, claiming that Inserra Supermarkets should have been required to install a new traffic light at the intersection of Wyckoff and Greenwood avenues for safety reasons, the website reported. Inserra filed the latest appeal after the freeholder board unanimously approved the project.

“All 14 counts of Stop & Shop’s appeal have now been disposed of by the Bergen County Superior Court, bringing us another step closer to developing a state-of-the-art ShopRite for the Township of Wyckoff,” Larry Inserra Jr., Inserra chairman and CEO told the website.
