South Carolina Men Charged With Attempted Murder After Bergen Stabbing, Robbery
Andrew Jefferson and Deshun Hill targeted an East Rutherford man and robbed him Sunday, authorities said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Two South Carolina men were charged with attempted murder after they stabbed an East Rutherford man during a targeted robbery, authorities said.
Andrew J. Jefferson, 26, Deshaun Hill, 23, were charged with attempted murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit robbery after an East Rutherford man was robbed and staff, said Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal.
Police responded to a 911 call on a report of a man with stab wounds at the Extended Stay America on Route 3 in the Meadowlands just before 3 p.m. Saturday, Grewal said.

During an investigation, authorities determined that the man was the target of a robbery, the prosecutor said. The Daily Voice reported that the amount taken was $11,000.
Jefferson and Hill fled the area and traveled back to South Carolina, the prosecutor said. They were arrested in South Carolina Monday, charged and are being held in custody in South Carolina pending extradition to New Jersey, Grewal said.

The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are pending, Grewal said.
