Tax Increase Possible Bergen County Executive Said: Report

$15.4 million in health-care cost increases and $3.4 million for debt service could mean residents' county taxes will go up this year.

Bergen County Executive James Tedesco gave his state of the county address Tuesday and said that a tax increase is possible for this year, The Record reported.

Tedesco said that a tax increase was a “possibility” and did not dive further into the annual budget, the report said. Tedesco expects to present the budget to the Board of Chosen Freeholders soon.

“The 2016 budget is going to be a challenge,” Tedesco said.
