Want To Vote In 2018 Election? Register Now In Bergen County

The deadline to register for the 2018 general election is Tuesday. Here's how you can register.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The 2018 general election is less than a month away. If you are not a registered voter and wish to vote in the election next month, time is running out to register.

The New Jersey deadline for registering to vote in the general election is 21 days before the election. This year, that date is Tuesday, Oct. 16.

To register to vote in New Jersey you must be:

  • A United States citizen
  • At least 17 years old; you may not vote until you are 18 years old
  • A resident of the county for 30 days before the election
  • You cannot be currently serving a sentence, probation or parole because of a felony conviction

To register in Bergen County, you can click here to access the voter registration form. You can print out the form, fill it out by hand, and then return it to the Bergen County Clerk's Office at 1 Bergen County Plaza, Hackensack.
