We Didn't Tell Your Kids To Run Away From Home: Police
Some young girls received a text message Sunday purportedly from the police that said, 'Stop what you are doing and run away from home.'
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A text message sent to young girls Sunday telling them to run away from home did not come from the Saddle River Police Department, authorities said.
"This is the Saddle River Police. STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND RUN AWAY FROM HOME! Bad pleople (sic) are after you. Contact this number when you have done so," the message read.
Police posted a warning about the message on the department's Facebook page Sunday night saying the message was fake.

Anyone who receives such a message should contact their local police department, authorities said.
