Wedding Season Brings Brides and New Excitement for The Vista
The Vista, Christian Health Care Center's New life Plan Community, to Welcome Residents from All Walks of Life
Wyckoff, NJ…Vista Vantage Club Member Irene Turrisi opened a popular bridal salon 30 years ago in North Jersey called Something Special in Wyckoff. While Mrs. Turrisi has no plans of stopping her work, she is improving her lifestyle by joining the unique community that is The Vista.
The Vista, Christian Health Care Center’s (CHCC) new life plan community (continuing care retirement community) for adults 62 and older, will be built on CHCC’s Wyckoff/Hawthorne campus, and will feature up to 199 spacious, single-level one- or two-bedroom apartment homes. While The Vista will be intimate in scale, residents will enjoy abundant amenities including three different dining venues, state-of-the-art fitness center, aquatic center, spa and salon services, Cultural Arts Center, library, social events, educational programs, walking trails, and covered parking.
The Vista’s location is appealing to Mrs. Turrisi. She called Wyckoff home for 50 years before moving to Hawthorne in 2008. She founded Something Special bridal salon on Everett Avenue in the township 30 years ago. Today, she still helps run the store with Lynda Raymond, her oldest daughter, and Lisa Gilmore, her middle daughter, who are both Wyckoff residents. Her youngest daughter, Denise Turrisi of Ridgewood, has also helped with the business.

“Something Special keeps me busy, and I don’t want to be a burden to my children down the road. So when some of my friends mentioned that they were moving to The Vista, I went online to TheVista.org for more information,” Mrs. Turrisi says.
Mrs. Turrisi made an appointment at The Vista Information Center. Encouraged by what she learned, she invited her three daughters to accompany her to her next visit.

“We were with her at every appointment at The Vista almost from the start,” says Mrs. Raymond, whose two children were CHCC Junior Volunteers.
The selection of Vista apartments is vast. Residents may select from 19 different floor plans.
“I really like that the apartments will all be on one floor,” Mrs. Turrisi says.
As for the amenities, which is she looking forward to the most?
“I can’t pick one or two,” Mrs. Turrisi says. “I’m looking forward to everything!”
Although The Vista is not built yet, the community is already forming. Individuals like Mrs. Turrisi who have joined the Vantage Club are anticipating moving in to the newly developed community, with anticipated groundbreaking later this year. Vantage Club members also have the ability to help design their new Vista apartment home, are invited to special events, and are kept up-to-date on every aspect of the progress and development of the much-anticipated Vista community.
“It’s the best feeling for me and my sisters that our mother is going to live at The Vista,” Mrs. Raymond says. “It warms our hearts to know that she is going to be cared for by people who are caring.” Mrs. Turrisi’s daughters remarked about CHCC’s strong reputation solidifying their family decision.
Mrs. Raymond has just one regret about her mother moving to The Vista.
“I wish I could, too!” Mrs. Raymond says. “The Vista is going to be first-class, and my mother deserves a first-class experience. The way she is going to live is amazing. I am so excited about her moving to The Vista.”
