Dear Editor:
I’m running for Township Committee for one reason: to help make Wyckoff even better. I’ve knocked on more than 1,000 doors during my campaign and spoken with hundreds of residents. Like me, the vast majority don’t believe in partisan politics, they know that teamwork is essential to making and carrying out the right decisions. If elected, I look forward to working closely with Rudy Boonstra, Tim Shanley, Melissa Rubenstein, and Brian Scanlan and creating a high functioning team.

My platform reflects town-wide values. First, I vow to help protect our tax dollars with smart spending. I’ll also fight federal lawmakers who proposed making the new $10,000 cap on property taxes permanent.
Second, I want every resident to feel included in our governance. We need full government transparency, non-political board appointments, and an end to nepotism. My opponents oppose televising Township Committee and land-use board meetings. But Wyckoff residents have a right to know, firsthand, what takes place at Town Hall, even if they can’t be present.

Third, I’m determined to improve water quality. Ridgewood Water is draining our pockets, forcing us to buy bottled water and costly purification systems. We’re on perpetual water restrictions because they can’t deliver our water efficiently. This needs fixing!
I ask Wyckoff residents to cast a vote for me. Help me make Wyckoff an even better place to live. I pledge to work hard to build a great team on the Wyckoff Township Committee for the benefit of every resident.
Thank you,
Carla Pappalardo
