Woman Dies In Fire In Wyckoff On Sunday: Bergen County Prosecutor

A woman was found unresponsive during a blaze at a home in a residential section of Wyckoff, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said.

WYCKOFF, NJ — A 79-year-old woman has died in a house fire in Wyckoff Sunday, prosecutors said.

Wyckoff Police received a 911 call at 12:05 p.m. reporting a house fire at 481 Meer Ave., the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said. Police found Virginia Ingenito unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead, prosecutors said.

The Wyckoff Fire Department extinguished the blaze.

"Please keep our neighbors in your prayers!!" urged Mayor Tom Madigan, showing a photo of a severely burned home.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Wyckoff Police Department are investigating the fire. Patch will add details to this story when more are released.
