Woman Killed in Bergen County Parkway Crash: Police

A New York woman was killed Monday night in a crash on the Garden State Parkway, police said.

Sara Martin, of Blauvelt, New York, was driving north at 7:42 p.m. in the right lane in Woodcliff Lake, said State Police Trooper Lawrence Peele.

Martin lost control of her 2001 Chevy Cavalier, Peele said, and the car ran off the roadway. The car went up a grass embankment and hit several trees. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, Peele said.

Martin, 27, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:12 p.m., Peele said.

Police are still investigating the crash, Peele said.
