Wyckoff Driver Arrested for DWI After Falling Asleep During Green Light
The driver didn't respond to the police car's horn or siren and only woke up after a police officer knocked on his window for 30 seconds.

A Wyckoff resident was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he didn’t wake up when police blew their horn and sounded their siren.
The arrest came after a Wyckoff police officer observed a vehicle at the intersection of Godwin Avenue and Franklin Avenue on Nov. 27 at 2:15 a.m. that did not move during the entire green phase of the light, Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin C. Fox said. After pulling next to the car, the officer noticed “the driver appeared to be asleep with his head resting on the steering wheel.”
The driver did not respond to the police cruiser’s horn or siren and only awoke after the officer knocked on his window for 30 seconds, Chief Fox said.
