Wyckoff Man Arrested For DWI In A School Zone

Kenneth Baron allegedly had an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle he was driving.

WYCKOFF, NJ — A township man was charged with driving while intoxicated in a school zone following a traffic stop earlier this month, police said.

Officer Michael Teegan was patrolling near Wyckoff Avenue at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 10 when he saw a motorist drive recklessly and stopped the vehicle, police said.

After an investigation, Kenneth Baron, 63, was charged with driving while intoxicated, having an open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, failure to keep right, in addition to the previously mentioned charge, police said.

Baron is scheduled to appear in Wyckoff Municipal Court.

In related news, police responded Friday to a Mountain Avenue home under construction that was burglarized, authorities said.

An investigation revealed that someone entered the home through a back door and stole several power tools belonging to the contractors, police said.
