Wyckoff: Mayor's Son Tests Negative For Coronavirus

Mayor Tim Shanley said his son's nasal swab test came back negative, but the rest of the family is still waiting on their results.

WYCKOFF, NJ — Mayor Tim Shanley's son, Matthew, has tested negative for the coronavirus, Shanley reported on Thursday.

"Today I got the results of my son, Matthew’s nose swab from the Mobile Test site taken yesterday. He is negative for COVID-19. Was pleasantly surprised at the one day turnaround for the test," he wrote in a message posted to the township website.

Shanley added that the rest of the family was also tested, but will likely wait a few days for results as they received saliva tests.

Remembering Wyckoff Residents

Shanley also made note that Gov. Phil Murphy acknowledged two Wyckoff residents, Alban Albert and his wife, Gertrude "Sue" Albert, who died of the coronavirus.

According to Shanley, Alban Albert was the head of the Ramapo High School art department for 30 years, and was one of the school's original members when it first opened.

Albert was a decorated artist, who won statewide awards for his work.

A veteran of World War II, Albert was honorably discharged from the Army after the war.

"They will be truly missed by Wyckoff and their families. Keep them and their families in your prayers," said Shanley.
