Wyckoff Offers Halloween 'Best Practices' Amid Coronavirus
The guidelines essentially include the basics of coronavirus safety; wear a mask, don't engage with others if sick and socially distance.
WYCKOFF, NJ — Halloween night will feature more masks this year than in the past, and no, not just Freddy and Jason.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic — and as case numbers begin to rise in the Garden State — Wyckoff Police have issued a list of best practices for the spookiest holiday, including guides for trick-or-treaters, homeowners and parents.
The list mimics those that, at this point, people across the country are largely familiar with: wear a mask, social distance when possible and stay home when or if you feel sick.

Guidance for homeowners is the most involved, and police recommend taking an extra step to ensure that social distancing can be easily followed by marking six-feet of space with tape, much like the markings you'd see at a grocery store.
Another recommendation would include one-way trick-or-treating. It would look like this:

- Place a distribution table between yourself and trick-or-treaters
- Distribute candy on a disinfected surface to eliminate direct contact
- If preparing "goodie bags," wash your hands before and after preparation
- Those bags should be lined up for families to "grab and go" in order to easily maintain social distancing
