WYCKOFF, N.J. — A police officer was sworn in on a probationary basis Tuesday while another was hired as a regular officer after being on probation for two years.

Kaitlyn Magilone was sworn in as a patrol officer at the Township Committee meeting. If she satisfactorily completes two years of probation the committee will appoint her to regular employment status. She is the only female on the force.

"I'm really excited," said Magilone, a Ridgefield Park resident. "I've only heard good things about the town and the police department. I'm anxious to get started."
