Narcan is used to counteract a heroin or opiate overdose.

A man who was overdosing on heroin was revived Tuesday when Wyckoff Police used Narcan to save his life.
Family members had administered CPR on an unresponsive 26-year-old Wyckoff male before police determined ”he was unresponsive due to a heroin overdose,” Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin C. Fox said. The man was revived after being injected with Narcan, which is used to counteract a heroin or opiate overdose.
The man was brought to the hospital for additional care, Chief Fox said.
