Wyckoff Township Committee To Host Meeting Tuesday
The meeting had been cancelled, but will now be held beginning at 7:30 p.m.

WYCKOFF, N.J. — The Township Committee will meet after all on Tuesday. The committee had cancelled the meeting earlier this year, but later rescinded that cancellation.
A meeting agenda had not been posted on the township website as of early Monday morning. A notice did state that "formal action may be taken" at the meeting, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. at town hall.
The demotion Police Chief Benjamin Fox will be discussed or if action will be taken on the matter. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office determined Fox violated a state directive banning racial profiling in a department-wide email Fox sent in late 2014.

The committee unanimously approved a resolution earlier this month recommending that Fox be demoted to patrolman and suspended 180 days without pay.
In a statement, Mayor Kevin Rooney said that Fox's action was "an isolated incident" and that besides Fox's email, the department, "did not endorse or encourage the practice of racially-influenced policing."
