A Wyckoff woman has an itchy career.
Marta Alfano is the owner of Head to Head Lice Treatment Center in Hawthorne and New York City and she says she is busier than ever because of back-to-school season, according to NJ.com.
“Last week we worked non-stop from 9 a.m. to practically 9 p.m. due to all the sleep-away camps coming back,” Alfano said.

Alfano went into the lice business after not being able to find a place for her own children to receive treatment when they had lice. Now four years later, she is helping families and school’s combat the blood-sucking insects.
But besides helping them physically, Alfano wants to help clients emotionally by getting rid of the negative association with lice.

Stating it’s a sign of love, Alfano told NJ.com, “If [clients’] kids weren’t close to other children, they wouldn’t have it.”
