Here are the top three stories in Albuquerque today:
- The Albuquerque Police Department is searching for a man who kidnapped multiple people, stole multiple vehicles, and fired multiple shots on Sunday night. The crime spree began on Iron Avenue when the suspect stole and crashed a work truck, shot at an individual who went to investigate the crash, and proceeded to flee from the scene on foot. The suspect then proceeded to kidnap multiple people while stealing their vehicles during a multi-vehicle journey throughout the Albuquerque area. Police caught up with the suspect but lost sight of the individual on a dirt road near Coors Boulevard Northwest. (KOAT New Mexico)
- An Albuquerque teen accused of murdering the owner of a massage parlor during an attempted robbery has been ordered by Judge Stan Whitaker to remain behind bars until his trial. Police say Juan Carlos Hernandez murdered massage parlor owner Sihui Fang on Jan. 24 with the help of 18-year-old Jorge Rivera Ramirez. The state prosecutors argued that since the crime was violent in nature, Hernandez needs to be retained behind bars while he awaits his trial and the judge agreed. (KRQE News 13)
- A Nevada pastor who was wanted for multiple sex crimes involving children under 16 years of age has been apprehended in Albuquerque. Reynald Crespin, 59, was arrested at a mobile home park on the southeast side of Albuquerque after the Las Vegas Police Department issued a public assistance arrest in an effort to locate the man. Crespin faces ten charges related to sexual assault and lewdness with minors. (KOAT New Mexico)
