Our pets need a break from the stressful shelter environment so we are hoping our wonderful City residents will give them a chance to be in a loving home for the holidays!
Starting December 18th, the program hopes to place many of our HUNDREDS of homeless pets with foster families. The Holiday Break program runs through January 3rd.
To foster please contact Leah Remkes at lremkes@cabq.gov. At each shelter location, there are binders full of “Available Fosters”, animals who are waiting for a wonderful home for the holidays. Foster families will be sent with wonderful care packages to help them make their new foster pet comfy in their new holiday home!
Stop by either shelter location to see the binder of available foster pets!
