The case now returns to Bernalillo County District Court, while the club continues serving alcohol and the state and city emphasize holding local businesses accountable to liquor laws.
2. Albuquerque officials celebrate effort to preserve Whittlesey House (krqe.com) — City leaders in Albuquerque are putting more than $115,000 in grants toward renovating the historic Whittlesey House, longtime home of the Albuquerque Press Club. The work will focus on repairs, better security, and reducing fire risk, helping preserve a key piece of the city's architectural and journalistic history for years to come.
3. A final tribute: Bernalillo County to honor indigent and unclaimed residents (abq.news) — Bernalillo County is inviting residents to a Sept. 3 memorial at Fairview Memorial Park on Yale SE in Albuquerque to honor indigent and unclaimed community members with a dignified burial. The 9:30 a.m. ceremony will include a eulogy, remarks from county leaders and funeral professionals, and respectful disposition of cremains for those who had no known next of kin.
4. Albuquerque Isotopes chase winning season as Tacoma visits (abqjournal.com subscription) — Albuquerque Isotopes enter their final 18 games still chasing their first winning season since 2013, starting with a promotion-packed homestand against Tacoma at Rio Grande Credit Union Field. Fans can catch themed nights like Women in Sports, American Sign Language Night, Bark in the Park, and a special Lobo/Isotopes crossover game with unique giveaways.
5. Upcoming Events for August 31, 2026 (mountainairdispatch.com) — Several major events are headed to Albuquerque, including a Salinas Pueblo Missions outreach table at the Rail Yards Market on Sept. 6, the New Mexico State Fair at Expo New Mexico Sept. 10–20, and a free veterans meditation retreat at The Clyde Hotel later in the month.
