Here are the top three stories in Albuquerque today:

  1. In an effort to diversify their ranks, the FBI and the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) held a hiring event on Saturday at the University of New Mexico, with the help of the NAACP. Special Agent Raul Bujanda said, "What we're trying to do is to make sure that the FBI, as far as population goes across the country, is in line with what our communities actually look like from state to state." Both the FBI and the APD are reportedly in desperate need of recruits, with the police department offering a signing bonus of up to $10,000. (KRQE News 13)
  2. An Albuquerque church has raised $30,000 for Ukrainian relief efforts. Our Lady of Perpetual Help Byzantine Catholic Church has been collecting funds since Russia's invasion of Ukraine last month, with donations quintupling between Mar. 11 and now. The church is still collecting donations; anyone who wishes to contribute can visit Our Lady of Perpetual Help's website here. (KOAT New Mexico)
  3. Police are seeking the public's help in locating a missing 32-year-old woman. Anna Marie Bainallen left her group home in northeast Albuquerque on Mar. 21 and has not been seen since then. Bainallen is reported to "suffer from diminished capacity" and may not know how to get back to her group home or contact her guardian. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Albuquerque Police Department or Bainallen's guardian, Melinda Broussard, at (505) 228-2889. (KOAT New Mexico)
