Here are the top stories today in Albuquerque:

  1. A string of armed robberies in Northwest Albuquerque led to one suspected robber being killed after attempting to rob Tobacco Town in Northwest Albuquerque. Albuquerque police data shows there have been at least eight armed robberies in the area within the last three months. As of Tuesday night, no arrests have been made. (KOAT New Mexico)
  2. An Albuquerque woman called 911 three times with no answer from the police. The woman, a resident at the Four Hills Mobile Home Park, saw an 88-year-old community pool attendant being attacked by six teenagers on Monday but no one answered her 911 call. The Albuquerque Police Department says they are looking into it. (KOB)
  3. A billboard off I-25 in Albuquerque has sparked controversy. (KRQE News 13)
  4. The Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque is offering treatment to inmates with an opioid addiction. (KOB)
  5. The Albuquerque Taco & Margarita Festival is set to take place in Civic Plaza next month, despite complaints from other cities. (KRQE News 13)
