  1. A Crime Stoppers tip led to the arrest of a man and a woman accused of robbing a University of New Mexico dorm room. Lisa Jaramillo, 47, and Gary Escareno, 46, allegedly stole a wallet from the dorm and used the money to buy $850 worth of gift cards at a nearby Smith's. Additionally, the couple allegedly lied their way into an apartment during a separate robbery. (KRQE News 13)
  2. The annual KRQE Cares Shoes for Kids has begun accepting donations for 2022. The program was started in 2015 and has provided around 2,200 shoes for kids in the Albuquerque region. Donations can be made through the KRQE Cares website. (KRQE News 13)
  3. State District Judge Alisa Hart handed an Albuquerque man an eleven-year prison sentence for a 2019 ax murder. Jared Deaton-Ryan, 37, pled guilty to killing Patricia Esquibel, 43, with an ax in the 300 block of Gene NW. The incident began when Esquibel accused Deaton-Ryan of stealing clothes she had left at his house. (Albuquerque Journal)
