Here are the top three stories in Albuquerque today:
- The New Mexico Department of Transportation is asking for the public's opinion on its plan to replace the bridge on Rio Bravo across the Rio Grande. According to officials, the structures are nearing the end of their design life and there is a need to increase the number of travel lanes along Rio Bravo between Isleta Blvd and Second Street. NMDOT will be holding a public meeting online on Apr. 13 to address its bridge replacement plan. (KRQE News 13)
- The New Mexico Gay Men's Chorus will be coming to Albuquerque this weekend. On Sunday, the chorus will perform 'You Are Enough' in the Albuquerque Journal Theater at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. The performance addresses mental health and gives the audience a chance to face their own concerns and fears. (KRQE News 13)
- The essay deadline is approaching for a national civics competition coming to Albuquerque this spring. On May 3, students will compete in a quiz-style format to see who will win the National Civics Bee. Middle school students in grades six through eight across New Mexico who are interested can submit a 500-word essay by Apr. 7 to be considered for the contest, in addition to filling out a form.
