Here are the top stories today in Albuquerque:
- November is Children Grief Awareness Month and a lot more people are grieving since the pandemic, especially as everyone heads into the holidays. However, this weekend, the Children's Grief Center and the Grief Resource Center held a special session just to deal with grief over the holidays. Soon, the organization will operate under the same building to serve more New Mexicans. (KOB)
- COVID vaccines are available to more people than ever before now that boosters have been approved for anyone over 18 and Pfizer vaccines can be given to children ages 5 to 11.
UNMH said they were fully booked for the vaccine drive and people without an appointment were turned away because every dose they had was spoken for. 650 families came to UNMH's Carrie Tingley Hospital to get their children vaccinated. (KOB) - An Albuquerque man who has worked to end the stigma associated with mental health is being featured in an international campaign to help raise awareness. (KRQE News 13)
- Dozens of people formed a protest outside Tiguex Park on Saturday afternoon to voice their opposition to the not guilty verdict of Kyle Rittenhouse. (KOAT Albuquerque)
- At least one person has died as the result of a multi-vehicle crash that occurred around 7 p.m., near the intersection of Montgomery Blvd. NE and Morris St. NE on Saturday. (KOAT Albuquerque)
