Here are the top stories in Albuquerque today:
- Slyvia Stearnes is warning others of possible fishing attempts after she says she saw a mailbox at the post office off San Antonio Dr. overflowing with envelopes last Wednesday. Stearnes believes a sticky substance may have been used to keep letters from going into the box, allowing someone else to take them later in a method known as "fishing." The United States Postal Service confirmed it received reports of possible fishing attempts at an Albuquerque mailbox and said it's an ongoing problem, but success rates are low due to measures inside the mailboxes that work. - Two more people are being charged in the death of 4-year-old James Dunklee Cruz who was killed in Dec. 2019. Among those people being charged is James' mother, Krista Cruz, who has been indicted on child abuse charges. Cruz is scheduled to be arraigned next week, and there is no word on the next court date for Pamela Esparza, the other woman who was indicted on the charges. (KOB)
