Here are the top stories today in Albuquerque:

  1. A man was arrested and charged Saturday in the suspicious death of his two-year-old daughter, Diana McGrory. Michael David Garcia, 32, is facing a felony charge of child abuse resulting in death. The two-year-old girl was found unresponsive and was bruised and burned. Garcia was booked into the Metro Detention Center on Saturday. (KOB)
  2. Albuquerque City Councilors voted in favor of bringing "automated speed enforcement" back. The program would issue those caught speeding, a ticket for up to $100 or four hours of community service. On Monday night city councilors voted 8 to 1 in favor of bringing the mobile speed enforcement back. (KOAT New Mexico)
  3. Early voting began on Oct. 5 for Albuqerque's Regular Local Election. Voters may vote in-person or hand-deliver their absentee ballot to the Bernalillo County Clerk's Office. (KOB)
  4. Progressive mayors are seeking reelection in New Mexico's largest city and its fast-growing state capital as voting begins Tuesday. (KUNM)
  5. The green flag was raised on Day 4 of the Balloon Fiesta. (KRQE News 13)
