Here are the top stories in Albuquerque today:

  1. A former Albuquerque pediatric surgeon, Guy Rosenschein, 68, pleaded guilty in federal court to seven counts of distributing child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography. According to court records, Rosenschein used an email account to distribute the pornography on several occasions in 2016. Rosenschein faces over 17 years in prison and a minimum of five years of supervised release with requirement to register as a sex offender. Rosenschein also agreed to pay $125,000 in restitution, which will be distributed to requesting victims depicted in the material. (KOB)
  2. FemCity Albuquerque is the local chapter of the international women's networking group that was established for launching and growing businesses. Their purpose is to help women network, connect, and collaborate together in the world of business. Locally, the group meets up twice a month and they are currently reconnecting with each other and are meeting new women. (KRQE News 13)
  3. Combining artistry, teamwork, and discipline, marching bands are instrumental in education. The 41st New Mexico Pageant of Bands (POB) took place on Saturday, Oct. 16, and APS brought home a number of awards in this annual competition that draws marching bands from schools across the state.   4. A man accused in a month-long armed robbery spree finally lands in cuffs, after getting shot by a Cricket Wireless store employee. (KRQE News 13)
  5. An Amber Alert has been issued for 4-year-old Izrael Martinez who was reportedly taken from the Dinosaurs Home Daycare in Chaparral, New Mexico by his non-custodial mother, Renee Garcia. (KOB)
